A personal site for consultants and coaches

A personal site for consultants and coaches

A consultant or coach sells judgement, and judgement cannot be photographed. A consultant personal website has to make something invisible easy to trust, before the first conversation ever happens.

Who exactly do I help?

The most useful sentence on the site names a kind of client and a kind of problem. "Business consultant" tells the visitor nothing; a line that says which businesses, at which stage, with which difficulty lets the right person recognise themselves. It also turns the wrong enquiries away early, which saves you calls that were never going to lead anywhere.

How do I show a service that has no product?

Describe the engagement the way the client will live it. What happens in the first session, what you ask them to bring, what they leave with, and how long the work usually runs. If you offer a few formats, such as a single session, a programme or ongoing follow-up, lay them side by side in plain words. Clarity about the process stands in for the product photo you do not have.

What can I use as proof when the work is confidential?

Much consulting cannot be shown, and clients know that. You can still describe the type of situation you were brought into and the approach you took, without names. Articles, talks and interviews show how you think. Qualifications and memberships matter in some fields; list the ones that are real and current. Publish client words only when the client has agreed to it.

Should the site take bookings?

If your first step is a call, let the visitor ask for it on the site instead of sending a message and waiting. That can be a simple form with a few questions, or a calendar where they pick a time. The questions matter more than the tool: asking what the visitor needs help with means you arrive at the call prepared, and they feel the work has already begun.

Do I need to write articles?

You do not have to, but for an adviser it is the most natural proof there is. A handful of pieces that answer questions your clients really ask shows your judgement better than any claim. Write only what you can keep up. A few solid articles that stay relevant serve you longer than a blog that started with energy and stopped.

What about my other profiles?

Keep them, and point them at the site. Social profiles are where people discover you; the site is where they decide. It holds the full picture in an order you chose, and it does not disappear when a platform changes its rules. Use the same photo and the same description everywhere, so that someone arriving from a post knows they have found the same person.

How I handle it

I begin with a conversation about who you serve and what the first step with you looks like, then draw the pages in Figma for you to approve before I build. The site is built on WordPress with Elementor Pro, so you publish articles and change your services from the dashboard yourself. The project runs over email and WhatsApp, and I reply within 24 hours. Tell me what you advise on and how clients reach you today.
