Your Salla store on a phone: what to review

Your Salla store on a phone: what to review

Most store owners approve their store on a laptop, and many of their buyers will only ever see it on a phone. Salla store mobile design is less about the theme, which adapts on its own, and more about how your content survives a narrow screen.

If the theme adapts by itself, what is left to review?

The theme rearranges its blocks for a small screen, and it does that well. What it cannot do is fix what you put inside them. A banner with a long sentence, a product name that runs to three lines, a description that opens with a wall of text: these are content problems, and they only show on a phone. So the review is not of the theme. It is of your own material, on the device your buyers use.

How do your banners look when they shrink?

Open the home page on your phone and read the first banner without zooming. If the words inside the image are too small to read, the banner has failed, however good it looks on a wide screen. Check in the theme settings whether it accepts a separate image for phones. If it does, prepare one with larger text and a tighter crop. If it does not, design the banner for the phone first and let the wide screen take what it gets.

Can you reach a product with one thumb?

Hold the phone in one hand and try to get from the home page to a specific product. Count how many taps it takes and notice where you hesitate. Is the menu easy to open, are the category names clear and short, does the search find a product when you misspell it slightly? A buyer on a phone is often doing something else at the same time, so every extra step is a chance to leave.

What does the product page show before scrolling?

On a phone the first screen of a product page holds very little: usually the photo, the name and the price. Make sure those three are right, then scroll and see how far the order button is and whether it stays within reach. Look at the photo itself too. A picture shot wide, with the product small in the middle, turns into a dot on a narrow screen. Closer crops work better.

How do you test an order on a real phone?

Place a real order yourself, on your own phone, using mobile data and not the office connection. Type your address with the Arabic keyboard, choose a delivery option, pay with each method you offer, and read the message that arrives afterwards. Then ask someone who has never seen the store to do the same while you watch without helping. The places where they stop are your list of fixes.

How I handle it

The design I draw in Figma is approved by you before the build, so you see how the store is meant to look before it exists. After handover the dashboard is yours, and you change banners, products and text yourself. Support lasts 180 days from the day the store goes live and covers anything that breaks, anything that behaves differently from what we agreed, and your questions about editing. Tell me about your store over email or WhatsApp.
